Welcome to totalkitcar online
A warm welcome to totalkitcar online … This week I focus on a tiny kitcar manufacturing operation but let that deter you from finding out more.
Bathos Sports Cars is run by an artisan by the name of Martin Batho, a gifted man when it comes to bashing aluminium.
In addition to making your stuff either on a special commission basis or from his set menu of items, you’ll be impressed with his skills. Martin makes aluminium sportscars including the Noble M12/M400, a superb ‘narrow’ bodied classic Westfield-style body in ally and can also lend his expertise to your E-type project.
Martin Bathos also produces the most delightful Lotus Seven-inspired sportscar that he calls the MB Gen2. Available as a kit, your £4995 gets you a spaceframe chassis, hand-crafted aluminium body panels (pre-fitted) along with independent suspension all-round. The standard kit (if that’s a word you can use with a delightful package like this) is MIG-welded, although if you prefer you can opt for the TIG-welded version at £5995.
Martin’s Westfield panels cost £2600 or £4500 if you want him to pre-fit them for you. A look at the Batho online shop will reveal a whole host of various front and rear wings and nosecones, which will either be a direct replacement for your car or suitable for something else.
Martin recently re-located to Hinckley and plans to be exhibiting at the rearranged Stoneleigh show, if it happens, but will definitely be at the 2021 event.
It really is great to see someone offering such superb skills in our industry and although we all love fibreglass, what’s not to love about hand-formed aluminium?!
